Lady Eagles Varsity brought home a win Friday night against home-team, West Forsyth, in Milton’s first Region game of the season. Milton walked away from the first half with a comfortable lead, 22-14, but the fourth quarter made for a particularly exciting match-up– teams tied until the final minute and a half of the game, when senior shooting guard, Natalie Sibani, buried a three-pointer to tie the game, and junior Ashlynn Scott laid in a free throw, bringing the Lady Eagles to victory.
Lead scorer for the Milton Lady Eagles was senior, Grace Armfield with 25 points. Erin Foley, senior shooting guard, brought home seven points, and sophomore Hannah Edwards contributed another seven. Senior Natalie Sibani put five points on the Milton board, and junior Ashlynn Scott, coming back to game time from a previous season’s injury, brought in a final free-throw point to secure the lead at game’s end.
The Milton Lady Eagles square up again this Saturday against the North Gwinnett Lady Bulldogs in Gwinnett Daily Post’s Metro Atlanta Showcase Event, hosted at Lanier High School in Buford, Georgia.
